Satanic Panic initially had me believing it and We Summon the Darkness were one and the same. I must have heard about the latter being in production and then saw the former’s poster because it looked like Alexandra Daddario on it, but is in fact newcomer Hayley Griffith. Satanic Panic opens up with an innocent enough but low-tier atmosphere. However, after getting over the initial hump, this flick picks up the pace.
Ray hears a voice and it won’t stop. He has tried everything to drown it out, finally settling on strumming his electric guitar to quell the noise. When his mother makes him stop playing the guitar he violently lashes out at her and goes on the run, but the voice makes Ray aware that he is just getting started…
Starry Eyes is a film about a young Hollywood hopeful who is stuck at a dead-end waitress job. She is at a new casting call every week but she never gets any callbacks. What starts out as just another rejection turns out to be rewarding in a strange way. She is asked to perform in unusual ways but she agrees and gets the part. It’s only when she has the meeting with the film’s producer that she realizes there is a big catch. It turns out it takes a lot to be transformed into one of the greats.
